Rickie Fowler confirms participation

American golfer Rickie Fowler has confirmed his participation in the Australian PGA Championship which is scheduled for later this year.

The American is seeking a strong end to 2013 after going through yet another season without any breakthrough in the circuit that could see him bring in top billings at any event he takes part in. a member of the United States Ryder Cup team, Fowler had a decent year in 2012 as he won his first title on the PGA Tour, winning the Wells Fargo Championship, having already won his first title in Korea the previous year.

And although he has not been able to lay his hands on another trophy since then, it can be said that he has had a decent season this term, having had five finishes inside the top 10 this season and also finished tied for 10th at the US Open. Rickie Fowler has hopes that he will be selected for the presidents Cup team of the United States in October and the 24 year old is looking forward to the second event in Australia in two months when he tees off in Queensland at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club.

According to Fowler, he loves Australia, adding that he has been there quite a few times before and this will be the second time that he tees off Down Under as a professional. He also went on to state that he is yet to find a part of Australia that he hasn’t liked yet.

Rickie Fowler also mentioned that he is definitely going to Australia to win the title and play the best golf he can but he is also looking forward to exploring the parts of Australia that he has yet to explore. And Rickie will need all the luck he can get too.
