Fowler looking forward to Thailand

American golfer Rickie Fowler has confirmed his participation for the 2013 Thailand Golf Championship which is scheduled for the end of the year between the 12th and 15th of December. Alongside Fowler, another exciting character from the US PGA Tour Hunter Mahan will also be a part of the event at the end of the season.

Ranked at 33rd in the latest Official Golf World Rankings, the 24 year old Fowler is considered to be one of the most electrifying young players on the Tour and at one point, even drew comparisons with fellow youngster and former world number one Rory McIlroy and was thought to be reigning at the top of the golfing world for years to come.

However, that hasn’t been the case for the youngster, who turned professional with one of the best records as an amateur in 2009. Rickie Fowler earned the crown as the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in his first season as a professional and also represented his country in 2010 in his debut professional season.

Fowler has managed to win just two wins under his belt as a professional, the most recent one being at the Wells Fargo Championship last year as he left Rory McIlroy in second place. And speaking about his participation in the Thailand Golf Championship, Fowler stated that he is really excited about making his first trip to Thailand and added he cannot wait for the event to tee off as he has heard a lot about the exotic Asian country and mentioned he plans to do some shopping and sightseeing once the event is over.

But first and foremost, Rickie Fowler will need to have a decent outing at the event and will once again have to put up a stellar show being one of the biggest names on the event list.
