RICKIE FOWLER SENDS SHOT OUT OF WATER WITH SHOES ON

The return of Tiger Woods to the golf game has sparked some kind of renewed interest in the game.

And having already set a pace to stay on within the range of leaders heading into the weekend, all was set for his game in the Hero World Challenge where he was paired with Rickie Fowler, another of the sport’s biggest stars.

However, the game on Saturday saw Fowler narrowly avoid a hazard and opt for an unusual approach.

Fowler who is no 12 on the World Rank list sits nine strokes off pace into the final rounds in the Bahamas.

He made his way to the par-four last, on five under for the day.And for the 18th hole on Saturday, he had to get closer to the water than he probably would have hoped for.

The amazing part of it was that he just stepped right into the lake, with his shoes, socks, trousers and everything after his earlier approach had missed the green and gone down the slope towards the water. It however stopped in the sand just close to the hazard.

With the way the ball had positioned itself for his 18th and final shot, he was left with no other option than to get into the water.

However, he just went into the water without undoing his shoes or rolling up his trousers and went on to hit his final ball.

The Ryder Cup star was able to pitch the ball safely in to play and out onto the green. However, he missed his par, which saw him close at a four-under 68. With that, he would be heading into the final rounds of the Hero World Challenge at the sixth position on the leader board.
