He tweeted about his participation in the tour once again after 4 years saying that Humana is one among the 4 events he would be taking part on West Coast in the coming year. The other 3 are Waste Management Open, Farmers’ Insurance Open & Northern Trust Open.

The social-media savvy young golfer’s Twitter declaration didn’t came as surprise to Bob Marra, the executie director for Humana Challenge.

“I think it’s a specimen of endeavor of the number of people engaged in the Tour to build our marquee players”, stated Marra. “We are super excited that Fowler has committed his participation with us for our 2014 season. We would soon be coming up with many other great announcements”.

Phil Mickelson was the most high-profile golfer for Humana Challenge for the past couple of year. The World # 4 has recently announced about his non-participation in the championship given his commitment to European Tour to be organized at Abu Dhabi.

The other major players to take part in Humana in the past are Matt Kucher & Brandt Snedeker. Both World # 7 & # 9 have taken part in the championship for the last 7 years.

According to Marra, Fowler’s participation could aid the tournament in pulling in fans from the younger niche. “Rickie is very attractive to every golfer around- the style that he brings has never failed o impress anybody. People adore him for several reasons”, Marra added in.
